Hi there! I’m Annie Woods, a YA addicted bookworm and coffee lover, who is the author of the Angelheart Saga series (First Came Forever, Forever Disguised and Beyond Forever).
Reading has always been a big part of my life. I can still remember the feeling when I learned to read and was so blown away by this whole new world that opened up to me. So, my childhood was mostly spent in libraries and book stores… I still love reading just as much, and how you can travel through books and go see magical places. I’m especially addicted to YA and teen love stories. The books I read as a teenager have stuck with me through life and I still love YA books more than any other kind of literature. I just think that they have so much more to them, with all their intensity and all-consuming feelings; the first crush and the emotion of it all; the characters you get to know and love and who stay with you long after the story is over.
Reading also gives you such an amazing opportunity to see the world through someone else’s eyes. Books are therefore a great means to making the world a more open-minded, emphatic and better place. It’s one of the reasons why I love to read diverse YA books, and especially books with LGBTQ+ representation. I also try my best to share and promote those books. Even though we have come a long way it’s unbelievable how much still remains to be done until everyone is guaranteed the unconditional right to love whomever their heart desires and to be true to who they are, without being afraid of retaliations.
My own books in the Angelheart Saga series also have LGBT representation, and I’m really proud of how many readers that have taken the gay characters in my books to their hearts. I’m passionate about fighting injustice, discrimination and homophobia. Gay rights are human rights! Period.
Besides travelling through books, I also love to travel “for real” and have traveled quite a lot with my family. I love to experience the world together with them and to do outdoor activities, like hiking, surfing or skiing. Generally, when I’m not reading, I like to be active and especially to go running. Another quirky fact about myself is that I’m super clumsy. I always drop things and spill food and drinks on my clothes. It even happens that I walk into walls, missing the door opening…
So, if you’ve read my book, I guess you can already tell that Erica in the Angelheart Saga is pretty much based off myself.
And can I tell you the best part about becoming a published author? YOU. I mean that. It is an absolute honor to write for you, and I love it every time you reach out to me. As a bookworm myself, I am so happy if anyone want to share their thoughts on my book and I love to connect with other book lovers. Check out my reading tips and share your own!
