King Arthur and Her Knights, book 7, by K.M. Shea is the epic finale of the funny, sassy, magical, wonderful retelling of the King Arthur legend and a story about a strong woman and how passion, a sense of right and wrong, and a bad-ass attitude can make wonders and change the world!
Starting this book, I was a bit worried how K.M. Shea would manage to conclude this wonderful series. I was expecting a sad or at least bittersweet ending, as I couldn’t comprehend how Britt, Merlin and her knights could be given a happy ending that wouldn’t feel cheesy or out of tune with the story. But I soon realized that there was no reason at all to worry. K.M. weaves together the final threads to complete this King Arthur legend with a twist in an amazing way. Loose ends are resolved and the story comes to a very surprising, but satisfying conclusion.
I absolutely adore this series! K.M. Shea has managed to take this old legend and turn it into a sassy adventure, giving it a feministic touch and so much humor. It has a kind of Outlander-flair to it, in how modern day Britt has to adjust to the Medieval customs and how she does it with integrity, fighting for women’s rights and being totally bad-ass and, apparently a hell of a swords man (woman). Just like the previous six books, I binge-read this one in just one day too. I just love this unconventional twist, and the way K.M. Shea writes, it’s such a great take and so intriguing!
